Sathayes’ are the renowned industrialists from Vile-Parle , Mumbai for about more than fifty years and have been  actively involved in various educational and social institutions as well. PTVA Association is a Charity Trust involved in running various schools and colleges with approximately 35,000 students at present. Sanjay Sharad Sathaye has continued the legacy of  this well known family .

Sanjay has taken a big initiative in establishing   PTVA  (Parle Tilak Vidyalaya) sports academy in Vile-parle, Mumbai in 2005, dedicated to cricket.  In Suburbs of Mumbai , there was not a single cricket wicket for children. PTVA Sports Academy has made available nine grass wickets suiting different weather conditions and two cement wickets for aspiring players. Without Sanjay’s selfless enthusiasm and Suren Ayre’s (who is main coach ) total dedication,  it would not have been possible to create such a marvellous ground, available for boys from poor and middle class  families . About 300 boys are trained every year in the Academy with exposure to many tournaments and matches with visiting teams including from foreign countries as well. Apart from Suren, Ram Kelkar has been helping in management of the Academy. The training team of academy includes Atul Ranade, Nilesh Patwardhan and Bharat Karnik who have played for Mumbai in Ranji Trophy, as well as Angu Swamy and Diwakar Shetty and others.   The academy has been able to produce some class players, who have been selected for Mumbai at junior and senior level. The Academy has received blessings from legend Sachin Tendulkar from time to time.

Sanjay Sathaye and his family, in the form of this book of 200 slogans on Sachin scripted by Aju Deshpande and Pratik Deshpande, would like to  pay tribute to great Sachin Tendulkar for his exceptional contribution  not only to Indian  but world cricket.
